The Northern Beaches has received over 400mm of rain in parts over the weekend, with the deluge causing flooding, land slips,road closures and evacuations. The forecast is for more rain today and throughout the week.
Brookvale Oval has also been inundated over 330mm of rain which has created significant risks to the site. Due to the complex setup required for staging and sound, the set up cannot proceed safely in these conditions with vehicle movements restricted across the site.
This decision has not been made lightly but Council has to prioritise the safety of staff, contractors and the community.
